Here are book I highly recommend reading

Over the summer I read, Beneath the Tamarind Tree by Isha Sesay. It is the story about 276 schoolgirls from Chibok, Nigeria that were on their way to fulfilling their future dreams until they were taken from their school in the midst of a Boko Haram raid. This Islamic militant group was against the education of young girls and believed they should be married, have children, and provide for their families. With strength, faith, and love these girls and their families at home managed to survive.

Lawyer Bryan Stevenson, wrote a novel about his firsthand experiences dealing with people on death row and the criminal justices system. It is a story about redemption and justice.
